I visited Head Spa on my trip to Hawaii. The store was very beautiful and clean. Both Sumi's head massage and facial were the best!! I was so relaxed from my head to my toes is and it felt like I was in heaven!!Thank you so much Sumi!

HEAD SPA... but it felt like a WHOLE-BODY MASSAGE!
Everything from the cleanliness to the aesthetics of the spa itself was top notch. Service was impeccable and the attention to detail was spot on. Left feeling pampered and relaxed. I loved the massage chair, which has calves back and arm kneading functions. The head massage itself is unapparelled: from the tingly scalp cleansing to the warm towel on your shoulders.... it was what I needed to end the stressful week! Thank you HEAD SPA - I will 1000% recommend to everyone!

HEAD SPA… but it felt like a WHOLE-BODY MASSAGE! ✨I went for a head spa day with my mom and my teenage daughter, and we felt PAMPERED from the moment we walked through the door!We were warmly greeted by the owner, who was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain each treatment and step of the experience. The music was peaceful and zen-like, the décor was beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, and the overall ambiance made the entire experience feel truly relaxing. But the BEST PART?! The FUN RAINBOW SHOWER! ????Attached to the horizontal massage chairs, it features calf, back, and arm massage functions—making this feel like so much more than just a head spa. While your hair is being cleansed, you’re also treated to warm, therapeutic towels around your head and shoulders, while the massage chair works its magic. It honestly felt like all the stress just melted away! And the little touches made the experience even better. After your treatment, you can enjoy the BLOW DRY BAR, where you’re served a refreshing cup of cold tea and Japanese snacks while finishing up your hair. This wasn’t just a head spa—it was a COMPLETE SPA EXPERIENCE from HEAD TO TOE! ????????‍♀️????✨Such a fun and relaxing experience to share with my mom and daughter. We left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and completely spoiled! ????

Like I died and went to heaven. Amazing and relaxing experience.

AMAZING experience!

My husband and I came in for the anti-aging head spa and the relaxation head spa, we booked the day before on a whim and couldn’t be happier. The booking process was easy (we called), the staff extremely respectful, and they helped give us directions for where to go so we wouldn’t get lost. Both services were incredible and thorough. I lost count of how many steps there were but the owner explained everything beforehand including what products they’d be using during the service. We were brought to our respective changing area and were given wraps for our tops. Then in the chair (which is a massage chair, amazing) the service was around an hour and included a scrub, many cleanses, scalp massage, neck and shoulder massage, a hot towel, eye towel, and much more. It was wonderful, I fell asleep a few times.Once we were done we changed back into our clothes and were brought to the blow-drying area where we were given cold tea and crackers and products that had been selected for our hair/scalp types. You have the option to leave with wet hair or blow dry your hair yourself. I actually preferred this, I’m very particular about how my hair is dried so I liked that I got to do it myself!Overall this was a fantastic experience in Oahu and worth every penny. Having experienced similar services in Seoul and NYC, it was on par with them and for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this salon and the staff! Next time will add on the facial as well.

I had such a wonderful experience! ✨ The treatment helped relieve the tension in my shoulders, neck, and scalp from spending so much time working at my computer. The owner and therapist were both incredibly attentive and made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I truly enjoyed my time there and will definitely be back! ????Thank you so much, Yoshimi-san and Maki-san!パソコン作業で凝り固まった肩、首、頭皮をほぐして頂きました✨オーナー様やセラピストさんが凄く丁寧に対応して下さり、リラックスした時間を過ごせました。またお伺いします????ありがとうございました✨

If you're like me and love getting your hair washed, this is the treatment for you. It's everything you dream about- a whole body massage chair, facial treatment and the ultimate in head massage. This is the best treatment I've ever done for relaxation. I had Nakaia and she was truly exceptional. Her touch was intentional and skilled, intuitive and with delicate care. I felt the whole world drift away and happy that I planned my appointment during a busy vacation with family. So worth every moment. I had a great experience and can't wait to come back and get an even longer treatment. (I get here often with the military). The treatment is everything and more than I expected. Thank you Nakaia for an unforgettable day. I left feeling lighter and brighter.

I've been interested in trying out Head Spa for a while, and finally made time to pamper myself. I chose the Hair Quality Improvement with the extra neck and shoulder massage. The experience was incredible!! I think I heard myself snore a few times, but the head massage by Tara was pure bliss!! Even though the massage chair was a bit snug for my big-back Polynesian build, I was completely relaxed and enjoyed every second of it. Let me just say, my scalp and hair feel so clean and soft, it's amazing!! I can't wait to go back and experience the other services they provide. Definitely treat yourself, and get with Tara! I know I'll be back!

This was a 10/10 amazing experience that completely melted my stress away!

Parking is right in front, very easy but keep in mind that the lot is quite small and there aren't a lot of options elsewhere since it's located right on King St. When I was waiting I heard other people say that they were having trouble parking so something to keep in mind.

I picked the 60 minute experience and it was everything I wanted and more. It was soooo relaxing. They have Japanese hair products that they wash your hair with and give you a neck/shoulder massage as well while you're lying in a massage chair for true head to toe relaxation. Tara took amazing care of me, she was great and so so kind.

If you're anything like me and like to prepare in advance, you don't need to fully remove your clothes but they do recommend you take the top portion off and use this tube-top thing they provide you with so they can massage your shoulder area. Small earrings are also fine to keep on but I believe you do need to remove any necklaces you have.

I would 100% recommend this to anybody seeking a relaxing experience. You walk away with clean, refreshed hair too!

The hair quality improvement head spa was 10/10. So relaxing and my hair felt so smooth after. Thank you, Yoshimi!

This was such a treat! Incredibly relaxing and luxurious. I came with 3 family members and we were all treated with such caring and skill! My hair has never felt softer. Next time I'm in town, I'll have to splurge on the facial!

Since visiting Japan and having an amazing experience at several Head Spa's. Came home and kept looking for Head Spa's on Oahu. Wife found this place and said looks good and reasonable..."let's try"! This place is Sugoi! You sit in a massage chair while you get your treatment! Nice! The staff are experienced and the whole treatment was like I was back in Japan! If you want a Japan Head Spa treatment, come here! It won't disappoint‼

If I could give Head Spa 10 STAR rating I would!!

A girlfriend mentioned that she goes to Head Spa and I was very curious to experience this place because she told me she has gone four times for different services. They specialize in different Japanese Head Spa - Hair quality improvement , Relaxation, Eye Strain Relief, Insomnia, Neck Stiffness along with Delux Head Spa Treatments. You can also get facials. They also give you options to add to your experience like extra neck and shoulder massage, peppermints foot scrub, heating eye mask, hand mask, and delightful facial among other options.

The business was so easy to find on South King St. it's located next door to Baskin and Robin's Ice Cream Shop. There's a lot of parking!

The moment I stepped into Head Spa you immediately relax. It's clean, quiet, spa music is playing and Yoshimi is there to welcome you! She's just the sweetest person.
- my go to technician is Sumi! Peaceful energy and also provides a lot of strong pressure for my sessions!

For the first time I went I decided to try the Relaxation Head Spa and added the Delightful Facial.

Yoshimi has me put my stuff in a locker located next to the door and you can hold onto your key. The technician comes out and helps you get settled into your area. You put your top/shirt and whatever else you have into a basket, and you put on a robe top that snaps at the front exposing your shoulders and neck. You are laid into a massage chair pod and by this time you're ready to just melt. My technician started out with my facial and I would tell you how it went but I fell asleep throughout the whole experience!
After you're done they take you to your chair so you can drink some tea and eat crackers that they give to you at the end which is a wonderful touch.

I went back a second time and treated my son to a Relaxation Head Spa for Boy's Day. He walked out and I knew that he was so relaxed that he needed a moment to sit and have his tea and cookies.

My second time for service my husband also got a Head Spa at the same time and I (requested Sumi) actually ended up buying a membership package. Go to website to see the different memberships offered.

I've gone a third time (Again- Sumi was my technician) for a relaxation Head Spa and again with Sumi for just a Ageless Facial!

I am seriously so hooked.

I highly recommend Head Spa located on S. King St in Honolulu. It's a Diamond!

If I could give Head Spa 10 stars, I absolutely would!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A friend first told me about Head Spa, and after hearing how much she loved it — and that she had already gone back multiple times for different services — I knew I had to experience it for myself. They specialize in Japanese Head Spa treatments focused on hair quality improvement, relaxation, eye strain relief, insomnia, neck stiffness, and deluxe head spa treatments. They also offer facials and wonderful add-ons like extra neck and shoulder massage, peppermint foot scrub, heating eye mask, hand mask, and the Delightful Facial, just to name a few.The location on South King Street was very easy to find, right next to Baskin-Robbins, and parking was plentiful, which made the visit even more stress-free.The moment you walk into Head Spa, you instantly feel relaxed. The space is spotless, peaceful, and calming, with soft spa music playing in the background. Yoshimi warmly welcomes you the moment you arrive, and she is truly one of the sweetest people you could meet.My go-to technician is Sumi. She has such a peaceful, calming energy while also giving the perfect amount of strong pressure during treatments. I always leave feeling completely refreshed. For my first visit, I booked the Relaxation Head Spa and added the Delightful Facial. After checking in, Yoshimi had me place my belongings in a locker near the entrance while I kept the key with me. The technician then guided me to my treatment area, where you change into a robe top that snaps in the front and allows access to your shoulders and neck for the service.Once you settle into the massage chair pod, you can literally feel yourself starting to melt into relaxation. My treatment began with the facial… but honestly, I can’t fully describe it because I fell asleep during most of the experience! That alone should say everything. After the service, they guide you to a chair where you can slowly wake up with tea and crackers — such a thoughtful and comforting touch.I loved it so much that I went back a second time and treated my son to a Relaxation Head Spa for Boy’s Day ????. When he walked out, he looked so relaxed that he just sat quietly enjoying his tea and cookies for a while afterward. On another visit, my husband booked a Head Spa at the same time as me, and after requesting Sumi again, I ended up purchasing one of their membership packages. They offer several membership options on their website depending on what you’re looking for.Since then, I’ve returned again for another Relaxation Head Spa with Sumi and also booked an Ageless Facial with her as well.At this point, I can honestly say I’m completely hooked.I highly, highly recommend Head Spa on South King Street in Honolulu. It truly feels like finding a hidden gem.

So much needed this treatment. Staff was great and nice! Explained the services and description of things. Will come back again and will bring mom too.

A unique and worthwhile experience, something in between a salon shampoo and a massage. Highly recommend.

I had my very first head spa experience at Head Spa Honolulu and I honestly can’t believe I waited this long to try it.From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was incredibly calming and peaceful—exactly what you hope for in a spa experience. The space is clean, thoughtfully designed, and immediately puts you at ease. It truly feels like stepping into a reset for both your mind and body, which is something many guests also highlight about the relaxing environment and overall experience. My technician, Maki, was absolutely amazing. She was gentle, attentive, and clearly skilled at what she does. She took the time to ensure I was comfortable throughout the entire session, and her technique during the scalp massage was next level. It was one of the most relaxing treatments I’ve ever had—I genuinely felt myself drifting off at times. The combination of the scalp massage, water therapy, and overall ambiance made the experience feel luxurious and deeply restorative. I left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and like my entire nervous system had reset. If you’re even thinking about trying a head spa—this is your sign. And if you can, book with Maki. I’ll definitely be coming back.

I don’t know what to expect as I was wanting to get a massage for my tech neck issues and they were the first ones to appear on Google. Boy was I surprised by how amazing this place was. The head massage was to die for. You have a massage chair that will go on during your treatment. I also got a few bit of extras which were totally worth it. Ai, the massage therapist did an absolute amazing job and was super kind. The place is cute with curtains separating each customer for privacy while white noise fills the area. There is a salon inside so you may hear occasional hair dryers but it wasn’t to the point of annoyance. Overall 10/10 will come back again!

Absolutely amazing experience. Was blown away by the level of comfort. Highly recommend!!!

Incredible head massage andexperience. Thank you so much Ai!!!!

Marlow took great care of me! It was amazing and my very first ever getting a head/scalp treatment. I happened to walk in the same time as a gentleman and I asked if he's ever had a treatment. He claims this place is the closest to Japan just double the price.

The place is minimalistic and clean. Very quiet as it should be. They give you a hair dryer and tools to do your hair but I chose to air dry. Why har dry and have the noise bother the clients. At least that's what I thought. It's nice that they offer that. After an amazing session wouldn't you want to go home and relax?! I know I did.

Marlow was very kind and gentle. A mother's touch! At the end when you sit at the end of the chair there's still more massage but I loved how she just rubbed my back like you would a baby. It was so nice. I'm coming back for more services.

This was my first time visiting a head spa, and I have 4C hair, so I'm usually skeptical about trying new hair services without knowing if they can work with my hair type. I called ahead and was reassured that they were experienced and happy to accommodate me.From the moment I walked in, I had an exceptional experience. I felt welcomed and comfortable right away. My specialist, Ai, was incredible and made my first head spa experience as amazing as it could be. l'Il definitely be returning as often as I can!

I have visited this spa twice now, with Marlo as my massage/facial therapist. Her massage pressure is en pointe, with thoughtful and gentle touches. I am so glad I brought my spouse and friends (on separate occasions!) so we can enjoy some quality R & R. This head spa treatment, manual massage, all the while lying down on a Japanese massage bed(?) truly out of this world. Thank you!

We heard about The Head Spa from friends in San Diego. This was a wonderful treat for me and my husband. We both asked for deeper pressure and our technicians delivered. The staff was friendly. The salon is nice and clean. The floating chairs were heaven and we loved our head spa experience. We will be back!

Wife booked an appt for myself and my son. It was a great experience. Very relaxing. Highly recommended

I booked a 60 minute Eye Strain Relief treatment with Sumi. As soon as you walk in, the staff is very welcoming and the atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing with dim lighting and gentle music. Even though each spa area is only sectioned off by privacy curtains, I had no problem feeling comfortable and it remained quiet for the duration of my session. Sumi was AMAZING. I would definitely recommend her to others and I would go back to her for future treatments. She often checked in with me to make sure everything was okay from the water temperature to the pressure of the massage. I almost fell asleep multiple times, but thankfully managed to stay awake so I could fully enjoy the treatment. Unlike other spas with timed treatments, I did not feel rushed as Sumi took her time to fully complete the session. After the session, they provided complimentary tea, a sweet treat, and hair clip. I would highly recommend Head Spa and look forward to coming back for future treatments!

Loved my treatment!!! I got the Unplug with Sumi. The massage was super relaxing and I'm so glad I started my trip this way. I feel amazing and ready to enjoy my trip after a really turbulent flight. I was running late and the staff were so kind and accommodating as best they could. The owner was great about it and didn't make me feel bad at all. Would definitely come back here!

New Japanese Head Spa salon in town!I received a 60-min head spa treatment from Tara and it was delightful! I felt very relaxed and my hair felt so soft afterwards.Highly recommend.

Heavenly. Treat yourself to Head Spa! It is professional and relaxing and down to earth. They have a subscription program for monthly visits too!

I had such a wonderful experience at this head spa. I appreciated that they explained each step of the facial in advance so I knew exactly what to expect. The massage chair along with Katy’s facial and head, neck, and hand massage was lovely. She created such a relaxing experience from start to finish.A bit sad that I don’t live in Hawaii because I would sign up for a monthly membership. I’ll just have to make sure I come back next time I’m in town!

This place is amazing!! What an experience and left a totally different person. The women that work here are amazingly nice such a wonderful experience!

I will def be back.

Amazing experience and so relaxing!! I had the detox package and the experience was even better than my high end resort spa experience. It’s going to now be a tradition every time I’m on the island!! I highly recommend you book now.

I recently booked a head spa experience for myself and two daughters as a late Christmas gift. What an amazing experience! We all got a deluxe spa with add on facial and blow dry. All of us were completely thrilled with the therapists and treatments. I highly recommend them! Even the blow dry was better than my hair stylist! The spa was clean and everyone was very professional! Not much parking but there are lots of street meter spots. Great experience!

My friend and I wanted to try a scalp massage place as part of our Galentine's Day/Treat yo'self day and picked Head Spa! We went on a Sunday morning (also Superbowl Sunday), so there was ample parking in their shared lot. After we walked in, we put our personal belongings away in lockers and we were given a run down of what would happend during our treatments. My friend picked the Neck Stiffness Relief treatment and I picked the Eye Strain Relief treatment, since I spend a lot of hours in front of the computer.

I then met Maki, did a quick bathroom break (since this treatment was about an hour!), and met her back in my assigned area. There was a huge body massage chair with a bowl/sink in the head area, which also had the cool scalp shower attachment! I was asked to change out of my top and into a provided cover up (you can leave your bra on, but I decided not to since it was so close to the water/shower bowl anyway). Then I sank into the massage chair and Maki let me know I could place my arms/hands farther into the chair so that they could be massaged. She asked if I wanted heat as well (yes!) and placed a cozy blanket over me. I appreciated that she would check in with me about the water temperature and pressure of the massage chair. I have huge runner calves, but the massage was really good throughout! Having Maki work on my scalp, feeling the water shower over me, and hearing the peaceful music in the background was all so relaxing. I was very close to falling asleep, honestly! The scalp massage was also very lovely--just enough pressure and not too intense! I didn't even realize certain pressure points needed to be released until then! All the different soaps/conditioners in my hair smelled amazing, and my hair felt so smooth and healthy afterwards.

The ice globe soothing eye massage was also a very nice add-on and definitely helped with my under eye puffiness. I felt so relaxed and refreshed after my treatment! I didn't include the add-on blow dry service, but Maki was kind enough to start drying my hair, even for a little bit as she had a customer waiting. I let her know that it was totally okay and that I could dry it. We also received a senbei cracker and cold green tea after our treatment as a little refreshment.

I checked in with my friend and she also had an amazing time. We definitely want to come back for another spa day! 🙂 Thank you!

I have terrible scalp psoriasis and had a flare while on vacation in Honolulu. I wanted relief, I had never been to a head spa before so I gave it a try and really wish I had gone at the beginning of my trip. Maki was wonderful, so gentle and sweet. I would do this again and again. I’m now home searching for a head spa where I live. 5 stars!!

Head Spa is a perfect place for a relaxing, Japanese style scalp massage. The treatment is soothing and the neck + shoulder massage adds relief and relaxation. The owner and therapists are all so friendly and offered recommendations. I look forward to returning and trying their facial and add on treatments.

WOW! I've been to many head spas all over the country and personally this is the BEST one I've experienced. You cannot beat the price. I had Maki as my head spa therapist. She was EXCELLENT! I interacted with several members of the staff, they were all kind friendly helpful & knowledgeable. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but this place is spot on. The vibe is right. I left feeling very relaxed and my hair & scalp feel cleaner than ever. Highly recommend.

Today I got the unplug 60 minute scalp massage, focusing on your neck to relieve tension from staring at screens. I genuinely felt relief in my face, head, and neck. I never fall asleep during massages, but towards the end I actually nodded off.I was greeted immediately when walking in. The environment is so calm and clean, and the service is performed in a fancy heated massage chair. There is a light fuzzy blanket they put on you that makes it so cozy!I have 3c/4a hair and was a bit nervous that my hair might tangle, to be honest, but my therapist Katie O was so gentle. At the end of the session, I chose to dry my hair myself, but she offered me several types of detangling brushes for the drying process including the tangle teezer. There are some styling products there as well. The checkout process was easy, and I felt comfortable storing my things in the lockers. I will be returning and recommending! The only downside was parking; I ended up using the metered street parking, but the meters take card as well.

My mother and I went for a relaxing head massage, and it was absolutely wonderful! We truly enjoyed the experience and loved the scalp treatments. From start to finish, we were treated with such care, and we left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. I would highly recommend booking an appointment!

My sister referred me to the Head Spa in Honolulu as a must try.

I arrived 5 minutes early and managed to find parking in the small lot for my 10am appointment. It would have been easier to take an Uber/Lyft from Waikiki, a quick 10 minute ride.

We discussed the treatment, put my purse in a locker and was escorted to one of the private booths with the massage chair. They provide a spa wrap for comfort and a basket for your clothes. I melted away in the zero gravity massage chair, it was relaxing. The facial was soothing and I felt rejuvenated, the tension smoothed away. After the facial we moved on to the head spa, and wow! My hair is wavy, and had the simple blow dry afterwards, my hair felt soft and smooth.

I recommend the Head Spa, especially after a long flight to HNL.
This was just what I needed before my flight back home.

Thank you Yoshimi & Ai for a wonderful experience at the Head Spa of Honolulu!

Great service and very welcoming people.

If you're looking for a relaxing retreat, this is it. My friends and I decided to try the new Head Spa and it did not disappoint. The owner explained everything in the beginning and very accommodating and ensures our needs are met. The Head Spa is very clean, and the knowledgeable staff make you feel comfortable. I left the session feeling refreshed and de-stressed. I will certainly be back for another visit."

We had an amazing experience with Janine and Nakaia. The massage chair was a delightful surprise, and the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking to truly relax.
